AP Subject Preparation
Full AP course content coverage for major subjects including Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and History courses.
Who This Is For
High school students currently taking or planning to take AP courses, including students who want stronger subject mastery, students whose school AP teacher isn't enough on their own, and students aiming for a 5 to support competitive college admissions. Especially valuable for students taking 3+ APs in a single year who need outside support to keep up.
Course Content
Each AP subject is taught following the official College Board course framework, every unit, every learning objective, with practice problems pulled from released exams. STEM subjects emphasize problem-solving structure and FRQ writing. History subjects emphasize document analysis (DBQs), thesis construction, and timed essay writing. The final two months of prep shift entirely to released-exam practice with timed conditions.
How ToIvy Teaches This
AP success depends on two things: knowing every unit cold and being able to write under time pressure on the FRQs. School covers content but rarely drills the FRQ skill. We teach both, then use released exams to make sure the student can perform on demand on test day.
Class Format & Structure
Subject-specific group classes (smaller than SAT classes) plus 1-on-1 if needed. Classes follow the school year and intensify in the spring. Final 6–8 weeks: full timed past-paper practice with detailed review.

Questions Parents Ask Us
Which APs should my child take?
Depends on intended major and school course offerings. We can advise as part of college counseling, and if your child is undecided, that's information itself.
What if my child's school doesn't offer the AP they need?
We can prep them as a self-study candidate. Many of our students take APs their school doesn't offer.
1-on-1 or group?
Group works for most subjects when the class is well-formed. For Physics C, BC Calc, or any subject where the student is significantly ahead or behind, 1-on-1 is usually better.
