GPA Boosting
Weekly one-on-one online tutoring from top university mentors, focused on maintaining and raising school GPA to meet graduation requirements or strengthen a competitive college application.
Who This Is For
High school students (Grades 9–12) who want to protect or raise their GPA in one or more subjects. This includes students falling behind, students working toward graduation GPA requirements, and students building the academic record needed for competitive college applications. Especially useful when school instruction moves faster than a student can absorb, or when consistent reinforcement outside the classroom makes a real difference.
Course Content
Each session follows the student's actual school curriculum for that week: textbook chapters, assigned readings, problem sets, lab write-ups, or upcoming quiz preparation. Sessions adapt each week to what the student needs most. Subject coverage includes Math (all levels), Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science), Social Sciences (US History, Global History, Economics, Government), and ELA. AP-level and niche subjects are reviewed case by case before enrollment.
How ToIvy Teaches This
GPA improvement almost always comes down to a coverage problem: something was missed or misunderstood early in the term, and every subsequent topic has built on that shaky foundation. The mentor starts by diagnosing the gap through a few focused questions about what's causing the most difficulty, then works backward to fill it while keeping pace with current coursework. Sessions are practical: the student brings the actual assignment, quiz prep sheet, or chapter outline, and the mentor works through it with them.
Class Format & Structure

Questions Parents Ask Us
What subjects do you cover?
Math (all levels), Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science), Social Sciences (US History, Global History, Economics, Government), and ELA. Niche or specialized subjects are reviewed before enrollment.
How many sessions per week does my child need?
One session (2 hours) is enough for most students managing a single subject. Two sessions per week makes sense for students juggling two subjects or facing a particularly heavy term.
Is this tutoring or test prep?
Tutoring. The goal is your child's ongoing GPA and coursework, not a standardized test. Students who do this alongside SAT or SHSAT prep often find they need fewer total hours across both.
When should we enroll?
As early in the school year as possible. We offer two early enrollment discount tiers; contact us for details on the August 1 and September 1 deadlines.
