Physics Regents Prep Class
A summer intensive Physics Regents preparation class covering all high-yield exam topics, formula application, lab questions, and timed practice. Designed to help students master the material and score well on the Regents.
Who This Is For
High school students in Grades 9–12 taking Physics and preparing for the NY State Regents exam. Particularly valuable for students who found Physics difficult during the school year, students aiming for the Advanced Regents Diploma (requires 85+), and students who want a structured, intensive review before the August Regents sitting.
Course Content
The course follows the official NY State Physics curriculum sequence but is organized around exam frequency. The topics that appear most consistently on past Regents papers are taught first and drilled hardest. Every class opens with a short warm-up on the previous session's key formulas, then moves into new concept instruction with worked examples, followed by structured practice using past Regents questions. Lab-based questions and data interpretation (graphs, tables, experimental setups) are integrated throughout, not treated as a separate chapter. The last two weeks shift to full mixed-topic timed sets that replicate exam conditions.
How ToIvy Teaches This
The Physics Regents is a predictable exam. The same question patterns and formula applications show up year after year. We teach the content clearly, align it to the official curriculum, then work through past papers until students can recognize question types and apply the right formula without hesitation. Lab and data questions get extra attention because they carry significant points and students often walk in underprepared for them.

Questions Parents Ask Us
My child is taking Physics next year, not this year. Is this still useful?
Yes. Starting with a summer foundation before the class begins is one of the most effective ways to set a student up for a strong Regents score. They'll enter the school year ahead.
What if my child already failed the Physics Regents?
This class is built for exactly that situation. We go back to fundamentals, rebuild the weak areas, and focus on the question types that carry the most weight on the retake.
Is 18 sessions enough to prepare for the Regents?
For focused, consistent students, yes. The 54 hours are structured to cover the full exam scope. Students who come in with some prior exposure tend to see the strongest gains.
